Help fast!!!

I am buying an 1998 SHO and the owner says it cranks and starts but will not stay running. He said a "mechanic" friend of his said the cams might need welding. Couldn’t it be a air idle control valve?

I would go with the owners recommendations. However, if it will not stay running... I would say it needs more than just welded. Sounds like it needs cams, valves, maybe even a piston since they continue to try and make it run. Offer him 500$ for it. And get ready to do your homework on www.v8sho.com
