Ok so ill start by telling the whole story. I took my car to the dealership where my buddy works. He spayed my engine down with some cleaner and washed it off. engine looks great. we then went to gas station got gas. when started car it reved to 2000 and slowly went down i was in a little hurry so i went ahead and put it in drive at about 1400. the car jurked forward and i went on my way. a few miles down the road if not instantly car started acting funny. shift wise. i figured crap i busted my tranny. i stopped at stop light and and reved car little and when i let off the gas the died intantly. stated the right back up. a little sparatic shifting a weird feel on throttle. also if i floor car it feels bogged down like it doesnt want to pass 3000 rpm. took car to auto zone and codes p1120 and p0122 which i believe are failed tps and low voltage to tps. could this be because of all the moisture. and when it dries it will be fine? any suggestions?

Where and what do these conections look like I'm not that savy....and also if there is moisture can't you use wd or the crc evuivalent and spay on there to remove moisture. Also car drives fine on highway a little sluggy around town you you part way floor it or get on it. Higway wise rpms may differ slightly but downshifting. At 50 two second then third to 90 still feels normal feels more crapy around town. The part isn't expensive so if its a gonner my mom won't have to cough up as much money as the tranny.....haha

Located tps. I'm going to clean with crc tomarrow morning and reset the codes and see what happens. Looks like for 40 I can get a new one with liftime if it comes to that. Sorry for my ignorance but where is the pcm module conection.

Never have the engine washed down. Take a rag, a degreaser, some beer, and take your time cleaning the engine down.
Water and moisture will get into places where it does not belong.
Engine washing = trouble.

Yea I tried to tell him he might screw something up. He said I do this to a lot of the cars with no problems. I told hi, hey my sho probly has a lot more electrical stuff under the hood then those nissans he details. I think he used way to much water...but anywayshadnt been able to mess with today since its raining. Hopefully it will quit soon

Ok so update. With it lightly raining outside and that sensor on my mind I went outside and un did the battery took my crc wd ecuivalant and sprayed the connections of the sensor and plug let it dry and sparyed some throttle cleaner in the throttle body and hooked everything back up. I've been driving around awhile today still no cel. But still the symptoms. Of the tps failure. I have gotten one or two high idles but went away fairly quick. As I was driving down highway in poring rain my rpms went high and trany didn't feel right either. I was going about 45. With rpms at about 3000. I pulled of the highway and my idle was right at 3000 rpm. I shut the car off and restarted it several times but each time rpms went right to 3000 rpms. I finaly unpluged the conector to the tps and the idle slowly went down 600 but never died. I shut of car pluged it back in and let it cool off for a minute and when I restarted the idle was about 900 so I headed home. But the throttle and everything is still acting weird. Did I use wrong cleaner and should get the proper electric cleaner or is the tps just gone. Also I had a high idle once about three weeks ago but didn't think anything about it. I did notice there was a tsb on the 96 about this....any sugestions. When something is wrong with my car it kills me. Please help..lol...sorry for the story....

The car should dies when your unplug the idle sensor. If it doesnt there is a vacuum leak somewhere. Also you might have water around a coil pack too. I washed mine down once and cooked one of the back coils.

Ok thanks. if there's a vacuum leak how would I know. And also if there's water in the back I guess the only way to get rid of it is just by running the motor and letting the heat evaporate the water as I'm sure it can't be much. Also I'm checking with ford on the tsb for the tps. Hopefuly they can tell me something.

vacuum leaking is a hunt and search process and is a pain in butt to find. The coil packs, well I had to remove the intake and pull the pack out. i had #1 and #2 go bad. I tried running the car for awhile, but never dried them enough.

Take the tranny connector that is pointing straight up, located under the air intake hose and clean it out. It will hold water and make the tranny act weird.
