Hello all,

I joined awhile back and have lurked only a little but planned to post well before now. Anyway I have a 2014 Ford Interceptor sedan ecoboost that I swapped badges for Taurus SEL just to confuse people.....

I just installed Diode Dynamics 57k headlights today but haven't got out yet tonight to check how much of an improvement they are but I suspect I'll notice a big difference. I also put on a set of generic trim rings off eVilbay... they fit snug so I'll leave them on but they split apart at the valve stem recess.

Anyway, I have a few things planned for the car later and I'll post as I go plus I'm sure I'll learn a lot from others here. 20211112 130547

Welcome, and as a owner of an interceptor myself you picked a great car. I've had mine now 6 years and at 160,000 she is still a beast. Only downside mine is N/A. I've got interceptor back seat mod and center console, lighting mods on Ford Taurus.net for the interceptor, or have any questions about yours you can shoot me a message, and I'll see if I can help, they are a unique animal.

Nothing wrong with N/A, plenty of power and fewer bits to plague you later. I'll have to check out your posts/car asap. You're right about them being an unique animal as I'm finding out the hard way. I appreciate your willingness to help also, I'll likely have to pick your brain at some point.

And please keep those wheels. I'm jealous and well will be upgrading. Always liked that look on the Vic, first time seeing on a PI sedan.

Here is the link for the rear seat conversion. Please read all comments too on my post if your interested in converting to a civilian version. And my user profile has the posts in how I did the center console.
Thank you much for sharing. I'm not sure what I'll do with the rear seat yet... it does have one but it's not the fold down style... it's foam and upholstery though which is definitely better than hard plastic as seen in some Interceptors. I'm definitely wanting to upgrade the console area.

They look much better with the aftermarket trim rings yet sadly I lost a couple of them running off some local dopers down some rather interesting roads that are barely roads. The trim rings were aftermarket and of poor quality. I think they'd have held indefinitely for highway or interstate use but not on these backroads. The heavy duty steel wheels are perfect for a car that gets used and abused yet I want to get a set of late model Mustang wheels or something to subdue the PI look a bit. I had a set of Bullitt wheels on an 03 Crown Victoria Interceptor years ago that looked like they were born there. I'm not sure what I'll do yet but I'll post when I get there.

If you go with the 15+ Mustang wheels all you need is the hub centric rings as the offset is only a milimeter different than the stock SHO wheels. I went with these:

Your rear seat should fold down. On the interceptors the straps to fold down are in the trunk on backside of seat. I do miss my Vic interceptor, parts were alot cheaper.

They look at home there and compliment the car nicely. I've been looking at a variety of 5x114.3 wheels including those from the Mustang in "18 or bigger.

Thanks, I'm very happy with them. There is actually a very similar style in a 20x9 or 9.5 that looks great and allows you to go with a wider tire. Not sure if the extra width causes any issues up front but I know a bunch of people on here are running that width wheel in aftermarket options without issue . . .

Panther platform are great cars. I am itching to find one in a year or two.

Like you said about losing those trim rings, I would keep the steel wheels and see if you can find center caps that might stay. I had a really difficult to find (discontinued) set of Cobra replicas made for tbird/taurus bolt pattern. Hit a good pothole and ko'd the tire and rim. There is a reason steels are used in heavy duty apps. They don't look as fancy but they can take more punishment. Plus they look different from everyone else's car. Just an opinion as they really stood out when I fist saw the pic of your vehicle.
