Hello everyone my name is Joe, glad to be on this website. I just bought a 1993 ATX dark green. It has 111k I bought it from the original owner. Seems to be pretty well maintained. I have read a little about doing the 60K tuneup can someone please explain? Also there is a small engine (oil)leak coming from somewhere on the top of the engine, it is minimal but would anyone know what to replace? Last but not least I was also considering changing the water pump should I? Is there anything else tune-up related I should do before I go the performance route? Oh yeah nice to meet you all. I will post pics tomorrow.

I went through the exact same thing you did last year when I bought my green 93 ATX. Check out http://www.shophoenixproject.com/. The oil leak could be a valve cover gasket. The water pump is changed out during the 60k (or 100k for the ATX). Not necessarily because the water pumps go bad a lot, but they're hard to replace. So you might as well replace it while you're in there.

Thanks. So hopefully its just the valve cover gaskets? Also I am in Florida are there any good SHO mechanics that anyone may know of. This car is going to be my daily driver so I really need it to be reliable. On average how many miles do these cars go if it was really well maintained? Thank you all.

The leak is on the passenger side. Looks as if it is dripping down the timing cover? Its minimal but its there and I want to fix it. What does everyone think about this tuneup:

Timing Belt Cloyes B248
Water Pump A1cardone 57-1458
Water Pump Gaskets set Fel-Pro ES70425
Front Main Seal National 710220
Camshaft Seals Motorcraft E9DZ-6700-A
Spark Plugs Denso #3128
Wires
Valve Cover and plugs well seals Fel-Pro Vs50378R
Intake Manifold Gaskets Fel-Pro MS94831
T-Stat Motorcraft RT 1112
o2 sensors Bosch 15725

Also I need a good mechanic in Florida any suggestions thanks.

Welcome to the forum! The tuneup sounds good just don't forget to check the valves. Your leak could possibly be years of oily carbon built up in the intake and leaking out of one of the couplers where the DIS mounts. It's a long shot and it's just hard to tell without seeing it in person. Good luck!

Yeah I got bit. And thanks for the welcoming, everyone seems very nice and helpful. Once I laid my eyes on the SHO I said I have to have it. So here I am.
