hey all,
I have a 2013 55k non pp sho. I'm hearing a "fluttering type, knock " sound that comes and goes and is most noticeable under normal acceleration, is it KR I'm hearing? I have quickly taped up the KR wires with electrical tape as best I could givin the time I had, seemed to help tone it down some but still comes and goes. this is drivin me nuts because sometimes its almost embarrassing when I have pe0ple with me. I am putting in new plugs this weekend and gonna try and check all the connections and CAC also . will wore sparkplugs cause this? .....I test drove a few of these before purchasing and noticed they all did it in some way shape or form. any advice or links most appreciated. thanks jack

I think I've heard the same thing in my 2013, and my 2016. Under light acceleration, I can hear a "flutter".

Brings to mind a lot of back-and-forth on ford-trucks.com about the Ford 6.8L V10 engine back when it first came out with PI heads in 2000. Exhaust "flutter" was driving people nuts - it was a resonance in the exhaust that happened, actually, around the same points where I hear it in the SHO. The solution that Ford came up with was a necked-down Y-pipe that changed the spacing of the exhaust pulses without any real degradation in WOT power (but it did mess with throttle response at low RPMS).

Interested to hear stories from other people who've noticed this "flutter" in the 3.5L EB and maybe one of them put in new downpipes and it got better (or worse)?

That sound is probably coming from the brake booster check valve. It's completely normal.

there is a post on here that shows and explains. standing in front of vehicle on right side of engine in center under intake. under the large black plastic tube that's between battery and engine. 2 sets of black n white wires in 1 plug . they rub on engine and chaff, ive heard that they don't have to be chaffed u can possibly get interference from them touching a ground source.
