Hello Guys,

Are the headlamps the same for a 1994 Taurus SHO and a 1994 Mercury Sable? I was looking at them on Rockauto.com and they look awfully close. Will the Mercury headlamps fit in a 1994 SHO?

Thanks for the input!!

Yes they are exactly the same and perhaps the best upgrade you can do for your light output if your current housings are faded and yellowed. I have "Sable headlights" from rockauto on my '93. If you use the search feature you'll find plenty of topics on the matter.

They are identical. You just swap the fishtanks over; they're held on by two phillips screws and some c-clips.

I've never heard of them filling with water. I've seen it on other cars though, so it wouldn't surprise me.

And yeah, the fish tank light mod is one of my favorites.

Thread's a bit old. But it finally got warm in VA so I just got to installing the sable headlamps I picked up.

Thought I'd put it out there that to re-mount your old fish tanks to the new headlamp assemblies, you'll probably need to sand the mounting points on the new headlights a bit.
They're a little wide and it causes some issues with positioning that makes it hard for them to fit. In fact, there are short depressions where it needs to be thinned.
A few seconds with a dremel does the trick.
