The only hard button unit that is a direct swap with any modifications it one from a '95 Taurus or Sable. All other require some sort of physical or electrical modification.

I switched in two 1992 SHOs. While it is possible, I gather, to modify the Lincoln hard-button EATCs the others are a easy to switch: basically you just unplug the one unit and plug in the other. I believe some '94 SHOs had the hard-button version. My daughter's 94 was bought used, so the previous owner could have put in its hard-button EATC, but if so it was the only modication he made and the seller didn't even mention it.

My 94 has one so the previous owner must of did the same thing. Strange he didnt tell me since he showed me pics of him doing everything else he fixed in the car such as heater core and radiator. Kinda an **** guy.

My 94 ATX had a hard button EATC.

My 93 parts car may have had one as well now that I think about it...that was probably swapped in.

Was there a recall on this at some point so that 94-95 owners could get the updated EATC's? I've seen 94's with hard buttons and 95's with cracked buttons. I never could figure it out...
