On 90 degree + days and SHO has been running in traffic, front-end suspension begins to groan and creak on stops/starts/turns. Sounds and feels pretty bad. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Groaning in Phoenix!

First thing I would check is your subframe bushings. There is a recall on the rear bolts as they tend to rust and break. This will cause all sorts of wierd problems. The rubber also tends to decompose with age.

Could also be worn out suspension components, its hard to say without knowing mileage on your car.

Check the tension strut bushings also, I have a bad tension strut to control arm bushing. On hot/ dry days, this gives a sucession of rapid squeaks during a stop.

If he is in Phoenix, ARIZONA, he is NOT covered by the recall as he is not in the "Salt Belt". The recall is area specific.

Could be tie rod ends, sway bar bushings, or strut bearings/mounts. Not likely to be SFBs, IMHO.

Try spraying accessable bushings/mounts with lithium grease. Inspect the outer tie rod ends for the source of the noise. You can inject lubricant into the boot which will often quiet them down if they are the source of the noise.

I have a 91 Sho and I was wondering if anyone has ever changed the end link bushings on either side? And how much do they cost and how hard are they to change..... I also need to know if and is it possible that my sub-frame bushings might be shot because I have a lot of squeaks coming from under the front end.. My 91 has 197,550 miles on it. If their is anyone that can help me with this problem give me some insight.. headbang
