IMG 5063 IMG 5065 IMG 5040 Hello everyone. My name is Henry and I'm not exactly a new SHO owner but I just recently came across this forum. I bought my 2014 PP SHO in dark side metallic back in March and have only tinted the windows and put a K&N CAI on (so far). I previously owned a 05 Mustang GT (Roush Stage 1) and a 2015 mustang V6, so the SHO is definitely new and different territory for me. I plan on taking the car to livernois in the very near future because luckily they are only about 45 mins away from where I live and definitely have big plans for the car in the future. If you guys have any suggestions as to what mods I should get besides the standard 3 bar map sensor and thermostat please feel free to let me know! Also for the people who have installed the LMS evenflow thermostat, how hard would you say it was considering im no mechanic at all because I saw in videos you have to "burp" the car in order to do it right. Additionally, what is everyone's opinion as to what catback exhaust system sounds best in person (I'm looking at livernois thunderstorm system or Corsa catback) keeping in mind I plan on throwing on LMS down pipes with cats.

Happy modding everyone! Shame these cars don't get enough credit where credit is due!:shame:

Thermostat is super easy. Take off your CAI and you have two bolts to remove. I'd put a towel under the housing to keep the coolant off of the parts below. I only lost about 2 quarts of coolant when I changed mine. Be careful not to over tighten the bolts on the housing. As far as the burping goes, just keep adding coolant to the reservoir until the car stops taking any more. (While it's running, of course)

Welcome fellow Michigander!

I have a 2016 SHO - picked it up in the fall. My 2013 Mustang left me stranded in the middle of Detroit one morning (cooling fan relay burned up, along with some wiring) so my wife said "get rid of the Mustang, it is cursed" (modified it with a turbo and 3 engines later pulled the turbo off - and along the way had other little things go wrong). Ford was offering such great deals on the SHO, and a$2,000 trade in bonus for the Mustang, that it was an easy decision.

Congratulations on the SHO Jim! I too have had unforeseen problems with my Mustangs. My old GT had about $4000 worth of oil leaks that I decided wasn't worth to fix so I traded it in and got the 15 V6 when they first came out...then about 4 months later, a lady pulled out in front of me and ended up wrecking the whole thing :mecry:so after searching for a new car the SHO is what I ended up with and I do have to say that I don't regret it one bit! Even though my GT was only stage 1 from roush it had a lot of other mods such as bigger throttle body, CAI, exhaust, tune, etc... and I have to say that the SHO feels every bit more powerful than that car and it's still basically stock. Ford definitely knew what they were doing with these cars.

Welcome, Henry! Tune + 3 bar + TStat will get your SHO off to a great start. Downpipes would be my next step in the evolution. Some TStats come with gasket, some do not. So I would keep the old gasket regardless.

Very first on my "mod" list would be a maintenance schedule for all fluids though - the trans/PTU/RDU being probably the most important. With enough miles on the SHO, new spark plugs would be needed as well (get those when you tune). A quality full synthetic engine oil will help the engine perform better as well. Periodically inspect the intercooler and turbo intake piping for signs of pooling oil. Top tier gas will help keep the fuel injectors clean, replacing whom can be an expensive proposition.

Great info! I wil definitely look into flushing those fluids.
