Great stuff. I drained my 92 transaxle oil and installed about 2 3/4 quarts of the GM syncromesh fluid. Works very well, smoooth shifts even in sub 40 degree temperatures. I highly recommend it. Purchase from GMparts direct.com Good luck, Mike

penzoil also offers synchromesh to the aftermarket... its only 4.99 a quart as compared to the roughly 10-12 dollar variety from GM... great stuff... i don't know where you'd get it in chicago, but i know for those of us in areas where O'Reilly Auto Parts is located... it can be had easily

My cable shifter is shifting like butter now with my witches brew. I AM curious about this GM syncromesh fluid. Maybe I should try it out in my 914. The redline 75W/90NS I've got in there doesn't shift as nice as the Swepco gear **** I had in before. Yeah, of course I could go back to Swepco, but then I wouldn't get to try out the GM Syncromesh now would I?

The GM syncromesh fluid costs about 5.60 a quart plus a shipping charge from GM partsdirect. It is synthetic and works well. I was reading a post on another forum and it was mentioned that Honda, S2000 owners love this stuff. People on our forum confirmed that they had good luck and so have I. Mike
