getting code 519

I am running the codes for my car and i get a 519 Power steering pressure censor circuit open how can i fix that and could that be the reson that my check engine light comes on that is the only code that i am seeing. any help would be apreciated

Has your steering system been worked on in the last few months? The PSP switch is the power steering pressure switch and is located on the fitting at the end of the high pressure hose where it is attached to the rack, at the steering gear. Check to make sure that the switch's connector is attached. If it is, you may have to replace it.

my car has been the shop for a while i just got it back not a month ago i had a new engine put in the car would this be the cause of a check engine light

Probably not. The PS switch is only tested during the KOER test. That's the point in the test where you're supposed to a gazillion things in 10 seconds, one of them is to turn the steering wheel to one of the stops.

I find it's easiest to just use the clock time on the SHO for a reference. Just set the clock to timer mode, start the test and hit the clock reset. Once the CE light cues you for the goose test, look at the timer, press the brake, turn the wheel hard left then hard right and floor the throttle until the revs get up really high. When you have the timer to look at those 10 seconds become a lot more generous.

i am getting this code with the engine off test

is there a difference if i get the error on the engine off test apose to the engine on test

Iam also getting a 519 code out of my vehicle.The test was also done with the engine off and I havent had any work done to the vehicle. The c.e. light seems to be comming on more now that the weather is colder, but the code is a 519. any help would be great!!
