I remember a while back there was talk about developement for a police grill for the Gen II SHO's but i dont think they went through with it since the gril is attached to the bumper, where in the Gen I's, the grill is a piece of it's own.

I looked into doing it for my 94, but I was told to do it right ... this is what they had to do.

They would cut out the piece of the bumper between the headlights and then manufacture out of fibreglass a replacement piece which was designed to my specifications. They said cutting out would not be good, because the plastic of the bumper was too thin, and it flail around in the wind etc ...
The new fibreglass replacement put in, (professionally), painted etc ... cost a little under a grand.

Yeah, it sounds like a great ideal, but I cant pay that.

There are some pictures of it already done if you check the search feature out.

Right the plastic is too thin. If you were to cut out the center section as previously mentioned then you would have another horizontal seam which would break-up the smoothness the Gen-IIs have (unless they filled the seam in afterward). Also cutting slots in the thin plastic would look real cheesy IMO. You would need some material depth to make it look good...like the center oval (which I'd be tempted to fill since it might get to visualy busy).
I suppose you could cut the slots in the plastic then behind them put a thin gauge of sheet metal with louvers that would line up with each slot that would give it some depth but you'd be left with a small step all around the slots unless you filled the step with something to help smooth the transition. Or you could be raw (read race like) about it and just pop rivet the louvers on, no cover-up.

I'll talk to Jay Tetreault about using the Gen 1 Police grill I sold him. Once you have that, you can do the Gen 2 piece better than with a pic.
I agree with Fred. Nothing compares the having the part in hand. If you can't get your hands on one for some reason I can supply a good pic.
