Anyone have experience with getting rebuilt engine installed by Northeast SHO in Spencer, MA. They seem to have volume experience and descent pricing, but Better Business Bureau has them listed as an "F" company, owing primarily to two unresolved complaints filed in the last 36 months.

hoboy...NESHO are not only very active on this forum, but them damn yankees sure seem to know their stuff. i know kurt personally and although he can come across as a dick, he's a damn decent human being. same with Chris...though he puts up a front of being a know-it-all ********, deep down inside, he's a big kitten looking for someone warm and fuzzy to cuddle with. their one of two shops i'd let ****** my cars. as for the unresolved problems, they're likely due to a certain someone who just doesn't like them.

I owned the very first cam failure car Kirk rebuilt and welded. I traded it in at 210K+ miles. Another member here wound up buying it from the dealer it wound up at. Last I knew, the engine itself was still running.

Call up North East SHO and ask them about the BBB rating. I am sure it is an interesting story.
You must have confidence in someone installing an engine; it is a big enough job that something is bound to go out-of-bounds, and it would be nice to have a feeling of how you will be treated during that process.

The BBB... what a joke.

If I were going to bring my SHO somewhere for something as intensive as an engine rebuild, Kirk would be a top pick, without question.

Seriously?

At any rate, what the others have said is true. NESHO (Kirk Doucette and Chris Archer) know their stuff, have done many many engine swaps/rebuilds/cam failure repairs, and I'm sure many on here can vouch for their excellence.

As far as the BBB stuff, I'm sure Kirk could explain for you if you asked. To be honest, I've spent quite a bit of time at NESHO in the 9 years I've known Kirk, and have seen many cars come and go through the shop. My best guess would be over 2000 cars for various work. 2 complaints in over 2k customers isn't a bad record, IMHO.

Good luck with your repairs!

Kirk, Chris, and Bob have all fondled my car at one point or another. 2 years ago Kirk picked up my car here outside Chicago, trailered it to Mass., rubbed it the right way in numerous areas, then brought it to Carlisle PA. where I picked it up at the All Ford Nationals. Stand up guys, I have 100% confidence in them.
This post is in the Gen III(V8) section and mentions Gen II (V6), the best part is it doesn't matter, they know them both very well.

I know them and like them all.

****, this year I went to NESHO and helped work on the Turtle car! I will alway's stick up for them reguardless of what other's say.

There was never any bad blood between us. We alway's have fun bustin each other's nuggets.

****, Chris think's I'm wierd because "I'm alway's in a good mood"!

Kirk has given me advice over the years on both SHO's and track driving. He is one of the reason's I am so obsessed with these cars.:hail:

With me, every time I talk to him he seems like a fairly nice person. I ordered a V8 engine from them and sent in a check. They are very busy and with a new 2010 SHO I’m not expecting a quick turnaround. Besides, I really don’t care how long it takes for my V8 to get here as long as it’s been welded properly and in decent condition. So far they seem like a great shop with vary experienced people. I say go with them.
