I've researched this and I only have one question that hasn't been addressed. My white 94 that I'm taking the RKE out of does not have a fob for it right now. Will I need to get a fob and program it in that car before I remove all of the components to put them in my 91, or can I just program a remote after I get it in my 91. It seems like it would work either way, but maybe it would be a good idea to do it first just to make sure everything works before I get it swapped over . Anybody know for sure? Thanks.

If you just want to confirm the RKE system works before you swap it over, then it would be a good idea.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure that once you remove it (from the 94), you will have to re-program the remote to the system(once in the 91), as that remote was not the "original".

it doesn't matter where you re-program the fob. If you do it from the 94, it'll still work when you swap it over to the 91. when you cut the harness out of the 94, make sure you don't cut off the programming plug. You need to jump these two wires to reprogram the remote.

EDIT: I got an OEM pair off ebay a while ago for cheap...under $25...

Wouldn't it resort back to it original program though? The one which is "hard wired" into the module?

There are no remotes "hard wired" into an RKE module. They only thing that is like that is the keypad code which is totally separate from the remote function.
