There is a clip that holds the cable onto the shifter on the early GEN I SHOs. Now this link here gives the Mopar Part # for a substitute part http://www.shoclub.com/SHO History/shifterrepair.html What I want to know is what is the original Ford Part # for this part? I have looked through the parts books and the illustrations and cannot find this part, unless I am missing something. Was it supplied only with the cable? Does anyone have a photo showing the part on the car or what the part looks like? Does anyone have a good used one? Thank you

Unfortunately that bushing was an integral part of the shifter cable. So I don't believe it was ever sold separately. The reason I say this is because when I had to install my SHOsource replacement bushing, you literally cut the old bushing off to get the new one on, as illustrated here....

FWIW, I used the Mopar clip first and it wasn't exactly a perfect fit, it also left a lot to be desired on the feel of the shifter. Once the SHOsource unit was available I immediately got it to replace the Mopar Clip. The SHOsource replacement is not only much more stout then the original, but certainly improved the shifter feel as well.

That makes sense. I figured it had to be part of the cable as the parts book does not show it as a separate piece. Will get the bushing to tighten up the shifter then.

My 95' SHO Mtx is in the shop now, i was waiting to hear back from the local performance shop after taking it in with gear change problems, turns out it was just that bushing. I left a trans in the back seat in case it was severe lol. The guy fabricated his own to fix my problem. They break after a while, my car has 112k on it.

Could not have been that clip, unless you converted your 95 SHO to a cable shifter. The 89-91 SHO had a Cable shifter. 92-95 was rod shifters.
