Did you drop lower the cradle?

Pretty sure I remember @802SHO removed the passenger side axle and was able to tetris it out.

Passenger side axle is the way to do it. Just remember the oil feed line is the last thing on removal and the FIRST thing on installation lol

you can even leave the stub shaft in place and just pull the outer half shaft so you don't have trany oil all over.
you have to have somebody hold the rear turbo up in place and you have to bolt it in from the top. make sure to check the feed line oil screens for debris. now I can see why these motors need good oil changes.

Does GH provide an installation guide or tips and tricks? Is there a thread on here or the EcoBoost forum that has them? I'm going to get a pair and install them with all the other performance parts at the same time. I figured I might as well get them and install them while I have the car down to install my DPs, intercooler, trans mounts, intake phenolic spacer and wrap coolant tube and XDI-35.
I wasn't originally planning on getting them since I have already dropped a lot of $$$ already but the more I thought about it, they would be the next upgrade down the road if I wanted to take the car further.

Yes there is a guide. And no I did not drop the cradle. 2 and half days all by my self. Not bad job. Heat shields was my big down fall.

Hey it wasn’t mentioned on this thread but just did this on a friends car and it was easy. Aft turbo took about 2 hours.

0) down pipe nuts through pax wheel well.

1) removed both lower engine mounts and pulled the motor as far aft as it would go. Did heat shields and all top side bolts and oil feed.

2) then pulled bottom of the motor as forward as it would go. Did both water lines, oil return and dropped right out.

3) install in reverse

Turbos are the smallest I’ve ever seen. Itty bitty lil turbos. New ones were ultra tiny too so they easily fit right back. There is a guy on YouTube talking about how big and efficient they are but they are just tiny fit in the same spot. Impeller maybe bigger I guess. So if anyone is worried about this it’s a pretty easy job. Used a 1/2 inch drive 13mm wobble on tops with 10” extension.

also if your going to be doing exhaust work penetrating oil and an inductive bolt/nut heater are good assets.
