Alright, I got this stuff from Wal-Mart the other day but wanted to check with you guys on here for your opinions first. It's Valvoline SynPower Super Concentrated Fuel Injector Cleaner (with synthetic cleaners). It says that it cleans & protects fuel injectors, intake valves, manifolds, and ports.

Has anyone used this stuff (or something like it) before? Is it a good or bad idea? Did it make any difference (positive or negative)? Thanks.

It can't hurt any to throw it in. I've always been told to put in double the ammount on a half tank or less and drive around for 1/4 tank.

3M sells a commercial grade cleaning kit that costs about $75-80 and is a can of cleaner that is attached directly to the schrader valve of the car and the cleaner is actually the fuel while it gets sucked in. It costs so much because you need the can of cleaner and an adapter kit. I have NEVER found it locally but I think Napa sells it.

I've used that stuff with every oil change since the days of SLO! thumbs_u Highly recommended. And Valvoline does make a type that comes from a can that goes to the scrader valve too, but from what I've seen it's only dispensable by a shop according to law, at least here. Or maybe it's just a marketing gimmick, who knows

I've read and heard good things about the Techroline in Chevron's cleaner and gasolines as an effective detergent. I have also used the cheaper cleaners. Any is probably better than none.

Hey all.

I use Chevron's 94 octane pump gas at every fill and it is supposed to contain techron. Should I still use Fuel injector cleaner, or is the techron in the gas enough to clean? I know that it doesn't hurt it, but do you think that mixing the cleaners may have adverse effects? Meaning mixing the chemicals of different cleaners? Kinda like the fact that you are not supposed to mix certain household cleaners? Just a thought.
