I think it's a ball joint,,,trying to raise the knuckle up to dis-lodge that lower link...can't for the life of me get that lower part high enough to get it out of the knuckle...it moves freely, but needs to go up over an inch...been at it over 3 hours now...HELP..!!!

I usually lower the subframe an inch or so, although sometimes taking a jack handle and prying down on the control arm will get it.

Try not to mash the ABS sensor.

You're making it hard to understand. Are you trying to get the knuckle off, like carry it around and put it in the trunk? Or, are you trying to just get it loose from the strut and move it around, while still on the strut?

What's the real purpose of all this work? That's another good question. Also, fully describe what you're talking about, not this lower part, this high part, this lower link, this metal part, and ect.

If it's the lower control arm, you can just use a prybar and use the subframe to bust it loose. You put the pry bar end under the frame and on top of the lower control arm, and push down. You don't need to lower the subframe unless you have performance struts/springs. If you do, you will most likely need an alignment after you bolt it back up.

another easy way is to unbolt the lower control arm from the subframe, then unbolt the balljoint........then all u have to do is twist the LCA and the ball joint pops rite out of the knuckle.....mite need to pry a hair on the LCA to get it to break loose if its gunked up but thats it

literally did this like 5 min ago......changing out the tranny seals on the 92
