Well to keep a long story short, I got in a car chase and I got away. My poor car did save me but at a price. While crossing an intercection my front end went air borne and landed hard(sparks). I worked the brakes and suspension to the limits.

Now for the damage. The front end is sloppy. Verrrrry sloppy. I have a clunk from my front passenger tire area when I start off from a stop. I am pretty sure the shocks are gone. Car po-go's over certain bumps. What should I look for when under the car taking inventory for things to be fixed. Thanks ahead of time guys and gals.

well, check for damage to the front frame and component mounts that are really low, look at the suspension arms, and linkages to see if anything is lose or broken. alignment and steering is likely very bad now, so have it checked. rims???? they ok? maybe need re-balaning after the impact. just get the front end looked at up on a hoist where you can see everything. good luck

thx guys, I'll go get the stuff checked. Rims appear to be ok so rims are fine. Alignment seems to be fine. Could the steering wheel be straight if there was an alignment problem cause mine is straight. If I look at the stuff myself, should I take the tire off to check easier? I am not big on suspension know-how so an idiots guide might help me. thx guys.

heh, well I used to drive a 93 Taurus LX, and there was this certain "bump" in a road near by my house, one night I decided to launch my car over it with me and 2 of my friends inside at 60. We went airborne and came down hard, that car used to do the same thing, although I never did fix it....

If you don't know, have someone else do it. The suspension is too important to screw up because you DIY and you didn't know enough.

That would be the sears in Burlington. I went there last sunday to try to squeak in one more alignment in warranty. The tech said I needed a new lower control arm bushing on the right side, and that my tires were bald. I go in there, and talk to the manager. I said your tech is lazy. He said why? So we go over everything. First thing I say is that I was an alignment tech at NTB, and I know how to get off from doing alignments. Second it's bad to say parts are bad that I just installed. Third, my tires are snow tires, of course they wear, but 6/32" out of 12/32" isn't bad. He tries to tell me Blizzaks come with 17/32" of tread. I said, "Sir, even the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A doesn't have 17/32" of tread!" What did I do after that? I reported them for my 3 horror stories to the district manager. What goes around comes around!

Did you guys happen to notice that Jr. dug up and 1 1/2 year old post? Dan doesn't even have his SHO anymore.

SHOpar, we don't discuss street racing on this forum. Track events are fine, but keep it legal.
