For the guys who have their Sho,s. The couple of Sho,s that i have seen the build sheets on had a front lic. plate bracket on the sheet. Did your car come with the front bumper drilled for this bracket or was this a job the dealer would do? My state does not require a front plate and i don,t want the bunper drilled.

The license plate bracket comes in the trunk and the bumper is not pre-drilled. I had my salesman take it out and keep it in his office so they wouldn't mount it during the dealer prep.

I never even saw it in trunk. I think my dealer(ship) knows better.
They dont even so much as try to put a dealership logo'ed license frame on anymore.

Mines in the trunk... NJ requires two plates, but I may give it a go for a bit like I did with my truck and see how much of a problem it is. :) Took 7.5 years before I put it on my truck, only got pulled over for it twice...

The cops are pretty lax about not having a front plate, I just get dirty looks from my village cops. I don't have one on my pace car either and got pulled over a couple years ago for speeding by a trooper. He was pretty cool after we talked a while and said he'd give me a break and give me a ticket for no front plate. When I looked at the ticket, it was for illegal use of farm plate... it was dismissed. No front plate is a non-moving violation, cost a buddy of mine $65.

Or save it for when it is traded in/resold...

Or save it because the Laws in your State might change. ;)

We don't need a front here in MI either, but I save all my brackets for this reason. It happended (Laws changed) when I lived in MA many years back.

IIRC, when we moved to Ohio, where they need 2 plates, I think I remember taking my BMW into the dealer and they gave me the bracket and all... I didn't install or drill a thing. I was thinking it was something they had to do. ?

For my Lightning, the bumper had dimples for the plate bracket even though it wasn't drilled... I don't even see dimples on the Taurus.

That is good to hear. I had dimples on my Escalade, and they finally drove me crazy enough to get the fascia flattened out and painted at a body shop.

Good idea. I,ll have the sales person put in the trunk and keep it in the garage .

I can think of more than one gen1 owner that WISHES they had the proper bracket for their car now...20 years later.
