I was looking for an upgrade to my suspension so I can have some better traction but I have not been able to find anything other then spring upgrades which I have already installed. I would like to know if anyone knows of any other upgrades like control arms or sway bars?

Not much out there but springs/coilovers as far as suspension is concerned. You COULD install traction bars and/or adjustable end links...

I thought I saw on a review somewhere on the '13 SHO w/PP that the rear way bar was actually smaller than the Non PP to aid in more neutral handling. That might be an option for you, if you have a PP SHO...

According to Ford.com website in 016, the PP Front sway bar was reduced diameter in conjunction with higher rate front springs and uprated shocks. I can't find this now on the 2017 site. The rear bar diameter for PP and non-PP SHO's may be same diameter, approx 7/8" or 22.3-22.5mm. I'm currently checking on the diameter for Police Interceptor rear bar as a potential option. Will report back here if I determine this.

Last time I checked (which was when the P.I. was introduced back in 2013, the sways on them (the P.I.'s) were SMALLER in diameter than the civilian variant of Taurii. Including the SHO.

I completed a cross reference review of rear sway bar part numbers on the Tasca Ford website.

http://www.tascaparts.com/ford/poli...and-components-scat/?part_name=stabilizer-bar

My 2013 SHO PP uses a 22.5mm (7/8") rear bar, this cross references to part number BB52 5A772 A. Turns out this bar is common on all applications for 2013 and later Explorer, Taurus, Flex, MKT, MKS and all Police Interceptor. And to be sure, the rear bar on my 2012 Titanium Flex EB is same part number/diameter as my SHO (BB53-5A771-BA). The difference in part numbers, -5A771- is presumably the sway bar assembly with links as delivered to the assembly plant, whereas -5A772- is the bar with bushing and brackets only as sold by Tasco/Ford parts. Ford has different part number systems as well for OE and service parts.

Bottom line, there is no optional rear bar available unless some member here can find this. My prior action with the Flex was to have a custom 1" rear bar made by Addco Industries. I sent them an OE bar and they used this to prototype the 1" bar. So I may ultimately follow this course again for my SHO. Unfortunately, it took Addco almost a year to make me the first bar. I will send an inquiry, but at the moment it is not a high priority. If I learn something eventually, I will post it here.

In as much as anything, staying firmly planted in the couch seat, at speed in turns, is as much of an issue as the body roll. Something a little more form fitting would have been a nice option. What are the plus and minus factors on the HR springs?

No sooner than I completed my previous post than I read similar post in TaurusClub forum about a 21.5mm rear bar. I looked again on the Tasco website and found a DG1Z5A772F for police interceptor w/o HD suspension. So I may have just been checking cross reference for the previous mention bar will fit the all mentioned Taurus/Explorer/Flex/etc. applications. My bad. My goal is to find an alternate part number bar. I know someone who works in ride and handling department at Ford who offered to check part numbers. I'll give him the two part numbers to get confirmation of bar diameters.

Regarding H&R springs, mine just arrived yesterday from TireRack. I plan to initially install the rear springs to get rid of the off-road look. Provided the car retains a level or slight lower in front rake, that may be all I do. Typically the spring rate is increased for the lowering springs to compensate for reduced travel to prevent bottoming. While the increase rear springs stiffness might improve cornering balance to reduce understeer, there is also an effect of change in suspension geometry lowering the roll center as well the rear CG. Because of this, and without data such as the spring rates, this becomes difficult to estimate. This is becomes a seat of the pants exercise. After installing, I will reset camber and toe-in to same as I measure before installation. I plan on doing this before end of January.

Contacted Addco but they said they can't take on an order at this time and I should check back in April. So I will do that when the time comes. Photo is 1" bar I had made for my Flex, so it exists!

Just as a follow up. I was able to check part numbers for my 2013 SHO with PP with a Ford engineer I know. See attached chart. He did confirm that the BB53-5A771-BA 22mm rear bar is the largest diameter rear bar available including Police Interceptor. You may want to check what part number tags you have for your springs and sway bars against this chart. If somebody has something different, I might be able to look this up next time I see the Ford engineer. In the chart there is a softer rate rear spring listed with a blue tag. Unfortunately I did not catch the part number. This might be for non-PP, if somebody can confirm.Chart
