I'm just right about ready to start the car, but I want to run past the fluids I filled with it with, since most of the are not what Ford specs (ie: why the heck does Ford have part numbers for fluids?).

Engine: 5 qts Castrol Syntec 5w30
Power steering: 1.25 qts AMSOIL Dexron III Mercon
MTX: 3.25 qts Redline Dexron II Mercon
Coolant: Not filled yet, but I was going to use Sierra.

For the power steering, I had to use the lock to lock approach with no power steering pump motor to get the fluid down. I have a feeling that it'll eat more before it's full but I can't get it to go down anymore.

For the MTX I just let it fall out of the fill hole and once I had (way too much) oil on ground I cleaned it and capped it.

Does that look about right? I'm just hoping that the MTX fluid is correct.

All of that looks fine.

When I had a completely dry PS system (new rack, hoses, and pump) I had somebody sitting by the resivour when I started it up and they poured in the fluid as it was pumped out.

Everything else looks great.
