Here lies yet another annoying quirk about the '94.. It runs great, and hasn't had any problems, but when shifting "firmly" (usually when downshifting) the battery light will sometimes illuminate and occasionally stay on. It can be "corrected" by doing the same thing again, and the light goes off. I'm guessing that something is just wiggling and a bit loose, seeing as how the car has not had any type of charging or starting problems. What should I check and either clean the contacts on, or secure? Also, can anyone tell me where I can find some grease for the battery terminals? The SHOs don't usually get too bad, but the Sable we have has all sorts of corrosion!

You can always head over to AutoZone for a free electrical system checkup.

If it's any consolation, mine used to flicker at low RPMs (even before the UDPs). Now it just stays on all the time. I have used a voltage meter to check the output on several occasions, and it is doing fine.

You probably have a loose B+ lead on the rear of the alternator which is affected by the movement of the engine, especially when the tranny shifts firmly. It's a common issue on ATX's and there's a TSB on it.
