After a long fight and learning about how to rewire up this stupid but legally required 3rd brake light, I have it mounted up and the trim cover on. I had to use some double sided 3M adhesive tape for the assembly to stay up there. I used a thin strip at the very bottom to hold it against the glass. Can't see it from outside nor inside unless you really look. As long as I have a functioning light and people can see me in front of them thats all I care about. The old tint obviously has some tears from ripping off the old foam adhesive but if I ever get that window redone, im gonna tell whatever shop that does the job to go around the light housing instead of over it meaning they remove it. Last I heard i think its illegal to have anything covering the light as you can't see it behind a heavily tinted window. Time will tell how long it will stay up. Vibrations, road bumps normally won't affect it as it's a static light. But weather changes & temperature changes hopefully shouldn't affect it sticking up to the glass.
