Hello all. My name is Brad. I am not new to Fords, but new to the AWESOME SHO!!! A little bit about me: I grew up about 12 miles west of downtown Chicago, I am 32, married and we just had our first baby in December. I work for my families construction company as an estimator/project manager. I also go to school full time pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering. My car history in chronological order:
1997 - 1998: 1989 Ford Mustang LX, white hatchback. I loved that car, washed it literally every other day.
1998 -1999: 1993 Ford Crown Victoria, dark blue with black leather interior. about 120K miles when I got it, but it had the Police Interceptor Package. That car was cool.
1999 - 2002: 1996 Ford Thunderbird. The newest car I had owned at that point, only 3 years old with 29K miles. Color was White Opalascent Clear coat.
2002 - 2012: My first new car. Black on Black, Ford Mustang GT 5speed. This was my baby. Only put 30K miles on it in 10 years. Mods: Exhaust, headers, intake, throttle body, custom tune, 3:90 rear end, short throw shifter, subframe connectors, drags springs, adjustable shocks, bigger sway bars, Ford racing drive shaft, Ford racing tach, mach 1 style wheels 17X9 up front 17X10.5 out back with drag radials, complete custom audio system.
2002 - 2005: 1988 Oldsmobile 98. My only non Ford ever. This was my winter beater when my Mustang was chilling in the heated garage.
2005 - 2013: 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 crew cab. Loved this beast. Became my daily driver and the Mustang was weekend warrior. Added exhaust, headers, intake and tune. 33" BFG all terrains and complete custom audio.
2013 - ?: 2010 Ford Taurus SHO. Rapid Spec 401B, SHO Performance Package. Black on Black. 26K miles when I picked it up.
The AWD is awesome, but I am still probably gonna get a winter beater cause I don't like driving on Salt! When I bought my T-bird, I was actually deciding between that car and another car I saw at carmax. The other was a Black on Black 1997 Taurus SHO. I wanted that car BAD, but ultimately because carmax is overpriced, I went with the affordable T-bird. Hey, I was only 18.
So that's me in a nutshell. Being a new SHO owner, I will probably have more questions than insight, but I have a long history with Fords and can help out with any questions about F-150's and Mustangs especially. I also have a great place near Chicago that does excellent custom audio work. Thanks for having me.
:thankyou:
