Hi Folks, been lurking a while and signed up today. I have a 2015 SHO and a 2011 SHO project car I just picked up. I will be removing and replacing the engine in the 2011 over the next few weeks. Current engine has 140k, 30 psi compression on 2 cylinders and the turbo's are leaking/ puking oil into the entire intake system. Bought a 2010 engine with 54k from first class engines in WI for $3200 which included the turbos.

I'm wondering if the engine will have the donor car vin so I can verify that mileage. Does anyone know the answer on that?

No vin on the engine. There is a tag but elifino how to cross that, then how would you verify the odometer reading.

Have fun. Make sure you look at the crank trigger wheel and the factory one matches the one on the "new" engine.

Engine Code Information Label

The engine code information label, located on the front side of the valve cover, contains the following:




Item Description
1 Engine part number
2 Engine plant (Lima)
3 Engine displacement
4 Engine configuration
5 Duratech 3.5L
6 Bar code
7 Bar code
8 Running number
9 Engine build date (DDMMYY)
10 Plant shift line
11 Derivative code

You can always ask the vendor for the car's VIN, I am guessing you already did and they did not provide it.
