So, got dragged to an Auto-X out in Lincoln this morning, rode along in my buddies SS Camaro a few times, and taken for a ride in a worked over Miata. WOW, I'm hooked, that is so much fun it's unreal. I need better tires haha.

Most of the guys seem to run either Hoosiers, Potenza Re-11's or RS3's. :woo-hoo:

Yep, its addicting. R-comps are nice, but I would get some sticky street tires to start with. I run Dunlop Star Specs and they work great....especially for the price. They seem to be the tire of choice for all the guys running in the street tire class around here. After the tires your biggest way to get faster is just seat time. Think smooth and momentum. You could check your sway bars. A big back bar and unhooking the front will help manage inside wheel spin if you are on your stock diff. Good luck and have fun.

tell me about, its very fun....when ur driving. working suxes! and yes tires are key. im looking to buy a used set hoosier R6.... 295 all around :) street tires suck!!!

The SHO is fun to autocross and i bet in stock class with some r comps would be pretty competitive in its class. depending on how good the people are in ur area.

i did another event yesterday. 3rd weekend in a row and im loving it!!! i could get used to "racing" on the weekends.

I'm hating you a little right now......or is that just me needing a speed fix.:naughty:

The sho can be fun to autox. With a skilled driver there are a couple of classes where you can put up some good times.

I'm stuck in C-Prepared. Do you know what would happen if a REAL CP car showed up? :rofl:

Are you usually the only CP guy there? I usually do decent in the SMT class, but then most the serious guys have got r-comps and run it SM. Alot of cars I run agianst are people who just show up every once in a while for the fun. I am curious what my car could do in the hands of someone who knows how to drive.

Generally I am the only CP car that shows up. So I have got in to the habit of comparing my fastest RAW times to the rest of the participants. In my cars last few outings, It has ranked anywhere from 15-20 out of usually 100+ cars. I'm VERY happy about that, as the club I run with is VERY fast and has put out more then a fair share of regional and national champions.

I keep thinking they should have an autox at the sho convention. Around here some car clubs partner with the local scca and have events.

There was a mustang that ran dual class in both CP and ESP and I rode with him later in the afternoon. If your car is anywhere close to as fast as that stang, my god that's CRAZY. The SHO is a decent all around car, don't get me wrong, but I honestly didn't think it could be that quick.

:hail::hail:

Also, you guys need to convince to not buy a Miata and start driving C-stock. I rode with the event coordinator and his gen 1 Miata was stupid fun, almost like a big go-kart.

That depends on how fast he was in ESP. From the ESP cars I have ran against, it has never really been a problem. If his car is legal in ESP then I would think its pretty tame for being a CP car.

Here's a video of my car at a test and tune....

Good thing it was a test and tune, I was playing with tire pressures (hence the loose rear end and the spins). You'll also notice the car had a pretty nasty miss at low RPM's. Regardless, its generally pretty quick.

That looks to be a blast! I don't think the brakes on my car could handle that too long though! Cool!

I don't think brakes would be to big of a concern. When your Autocrossing you are on the brakes far less then you would think (once you get used to it). Tires on the other hand? Well, it eats them up pretty good!
