Now that ive got pretty much all my black interior parts lines up and ready to be cleaned, most of the interior is out of the car. Center console is mostly removed just have to cut the wires and splice in removable connecrs for easy detachment later. Pretty much all the interior panels on each sides of the car are down and the headliner is a couple bolts from removing. Also, the whole rear of the car is diss-assembled. No rear seat, no interior panels on the back, and the rear carpet under the rear window is out. After getting parts from about 3 different cars, the full black interior is just about ready.

My dad bought a '91 Plus SHO in a car auction for $100!. The body was quite rusty, but the interior looked really nice and well cared for, and first of all it was full black leather, which is extremly hard to find these days with these cars just getting higher and higher milage. We totally stripped the whole car and left it down to bare metal. We took the engine out, all the suspension, and all of the interior. Ive never helped to part out a car before, it was pretty fun, even for me missing out on some of it because i was very sick. We found over $6.00 of lost change in the car which was pretty funny, and also the interesting part, there were two unused sirenges right under the front of the headliner. That was definitly an interesting find! Maybe im getting a herawin addict's interior, but that makes it all the better right?

Ive got all the black door panels cleaned up and ready along with the headliner, just have to clean up the rear seat. Everything will be black in the rear for now, the door panels, and the side interior pieces. As soon as the front seats are good enough for my taste. They will be removed and im going to shampoo the carpet and put that in, and then i can finally add in my custom made black CincySHO floor mats in. Last step will be the dash when everything else is ready, and the gauge pod and the new gauges are installed.

Its amazing when i pulled these interior pieces out how sun dried and how much they lost their color from spending most of its life in Flordia, plus i just hit 155,000 body miles!

When the dash is ready im doing my climate control swap from the top of the dash to where the head unit is now, and im going to pick up a nice 7in LCD screen for to replece the climate control spot, and maybe a slim PS2 in my glove box.

The sounds mostly just got wired up tonight. I had a very knowelable friend of mine come over and we worked for two days because the ******* who wired up the car did everything wrong, and we pretty much had to re-do all the wires. For example, the front speakers were actually wired in by RCA's instead of actual speaker wire, which was pretty unbelieveable, and everything was just hacked up in the rear. I still have to complete the fabrication of the 6x9's into the rear of the car because they are not made for that size. Im not just going to take the easy way and cut the car, but since the panel above the speakers is raised up im going to create my own bracket with rubber inserts to make a nice 10-15 degree angle, so they point twards you.

My 10 speaker system with a total of over 1200watt max power is almost complete. I have a limp top of the line Alpine head unit in there with 60wx4 (single CD player doesnt work, and one pre-amp is blown). Then i have 2 MB Quart tweaders fabbed in the front dash, and two MD quart 6in midrange speakers in the doors replacing my stock JBL system. Then the 6x9's are Power Acouctiks 300w 4 ways. These are by far the best sounding 6x9's iver ever head, and ive tried many. They can handle so much power that i have a Power Acouctiks 4 channel 600w amp powering them. Then i have a 10in Alumapro full aluminum cone set in a really nice bandpass ported box, and thats powered by a 500 watt max Alpine 2 channel amp. The next things to add in are my 4 2.5 in tweaders that i am fabbing into the very front of the doors and the rear.

It sounds so beautiful right now even without the extra tweaders. Ive tested rock, rap, techno, and acoustic guitar on them and its extremly loud and very cripsy even at extremly high volumes. Very satisfied and excited.

It sounds like it's going to be very nice! I made a find on some full leather 1st gen seat a while back. They had been pulled from a low mile wrecked 91 many years ago and just sat in a garage for years.

Thats what i need to find. I mean the seats that i pulled out of the parts car were quite nice, but really not nice enough for my taste. I need to let them soak with some leather cleaner and maybe they will clean up a little better. Their full leather though, and thats extremly hard to find. I tried to stop at a local trim place that does some amazing leather work, and they wanted $3500 to re-cover the front seats in some nice quality black leather. Thats alot!

Update:

Today and i did alot of cleaning. I bought a bunch of cleaning materials for the plastic pieces, vinal, leather, and carpet. I cleaned all 4 black door panels, and i cleaned them so well they look brand new again! Also i cleaned the back hatch where the rear speakers go, and that looks awsome again to.

The main thing today, and probally one of the longest projects, was i finished custom fabbing in my new 6x9 speakers. They point at a very nice 15 degree angle now, and the new brackets i made are extremly solid and very sound efficent because of the rubber insulation i used. I made them out of pieces of aluminum, so they would not stick or interfere with the huge magnet for the 6x9's. I love having all these air tools where i can cut sticks of aluminum all the way through in seconds. The rear hatch piece and the stock speaker grates fit perfectly even with the oversized speakers in them.

Jc whitney has an assortment of new carpet. I think the quality is lacking though. Did you get the cincy sho mats recently?

Looking very nice! You and your dad really put it all into your SHOs... much respect for that. I was wondering since you obviously know what you're doing, can you help me out on a couple things. First off, I installed some 6x9's into my 91 and plugged them into the factory mid/high connector. Is that what you did also? See here... http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=45752
Secondly, what did you use & how did you clean the door panels? I'm having trouble making them look nice and also the outside door trim. That is really nasty looking and if you have a suggestion as to how to spruce that up that'd be great. Not intending on hijacking your post, just want to learn from someone who knows their stuff . ;) Thanks in advance.

Where in the heck did you pick up Cincy SHO mats from? wanted a set of black ones with the Gen 3 logo in them for awhile but they kinda aren't available anymore.

Gen 3s didn't come with a black interior. I was under the impression that the Cincy mats were just Ford Gen 3 ones. How'd you get them in black?

PS Say hi to Bill for me :)

Thanks Adam!

I try to do as much as i can and as well as i can for the money and time ive got. Ive cleaned many many things in the interior all the time on my car and nothing cleans as well as the Lextol cleaner i bought. It cleanes the nastiest stuff off of the trim panels and it also leaves an awsome shine when its done. It is by far the most amazing stuff ive ever used. I highly reccoment it. Its even good for all kinds of vinel and leather applications. I used it on the black leather seats to, and it cleaned them perfectly. Ill post some pics of my progress and how well the door panels and such were cleaned. I also used 3m foaming carpet cleaner for all the carpet in the door panels and the rear deck, and that also came out perfect.

About the 6 x 9's, i had to make myself custom brackets out of aluminum because the stock brackets that are on the 15 degree angle are actually 6 x 8's and i didnt know this at the time. Im using an aftermarket amp, so all the stock wiring is gone for the stock amps and such, so i really cant help you much with that question, but i can urge you to get yourself a nice 4 channel amp because it even sounds so much better then the stock JBL amps.

I got the floor mats quite a while ago on ebay and won them. I believe Eric W. was selling them when he was parting out his car, so i lucily picked those up. Yes they do come and black, and they are made for a Gen 1 or 2, and yes they look awsome in the car. Ill get some pics of them to. Thanks for the comments. :salute:

OK, had to order in the lexol... here's what I ended up getting http://www.superiorcarcare.net/lx3000.html
Is that Vinylex stuff pretty good too? Figured I couldn't go wrong getting the kit since the local O'Reiley Auto Parts had to order the cleaner and it was $23 a bottle vs. $48 shipped for that whole kit.
