Alright guys, 13 pages of informative posts and then 5 posts of people jumping down throats. Keep it clean and on track - I DON'T want to edit this thread again...

Keep it on topic, you don't like something bite your tongue or PM someone... :squint:

in regards to the yellow mustang..er..sho.

i dont think it looks too horrible from the front...could use some foglights..

every other angle is just nasty though

still..it gives hope that perhaps others will adapt a (or maky their own) body kit for the SHO for a little more menacing look

The flared fenders definitely spark a new horizon of sexiness to the SHO! I've always dreamed of flaring the '89s rear quarters to accept something a bit wider, but Mr. SHOWYA gone dun did shown me the light! :thumb: I'm more of the opposite, though. The SHO must be a worthy 13 second car before I start dumping $$$$K of money in the thing, cosmetically.

Although, she could use a paint job riiighht about... NOW!

Seems to me that keeping a SHO in the 13-second range has more to do with the removal of cosmetics! The original SR71 was almost fully gutted save for the racing seat, and that white turbo was even more gutted, with door panels, inner skins, and a bunch of other stuff hacked out of it. I guess you've got to go bare-bones to get these hulks to move.

About the pics, somehow I thought this SHOstang car was going to be the car. Get any skirts to fit just yet?

You're in the same boat as me.

I believe the current SR71 was near full weight when it made its sub-14 sec N/A passes. That's my goal.

I'd like to prove the 13 second "law" wrong eventually. A fully clothed SHO should definitely crack into the 13s with the right mods. It's been done before, it can be done again!

Yeah I know ... i havent been doing anything yet. But now that is starting to warm up a bit I have to go finish the interior pieces this weekend.
Plus a have a lil' draw back. Since i take turns with my Bro's 00 Civic Si, the friggin thing threw a rod. Had never happen to me before in any car i had. It scarry. BOOOM! thats all i heard with alotta smoke.

So we are looking for a new engine for it. It was expected; the way that thing was driven by him and me. So we are looking to move up in the engine department ... maybe a type-r engine hopefully. So most of my funds are going to help him out. So i guess the tweecer is gona have to wait. Even my tax refund is going towards the civic.

I decided on getting the Ray's Engineering Progressiv Rim. I still need to measure correctly to get the right offset since i want to do 19x9 all around. But i really dont want to risk the front fender wells since they are fiberglass, so i may do 19x8 or 8.5 in the front.
