I was looking at the picture of your car without lights or bumper, and it kind of reminded me of another car:

If you wanted to go really big, I wonder if a fiberglass front grill and lights for a 'SHO GT' wouldn't be too crazy? Just giving a wild idea to the forum!

I agree but i think im just focusing right now on putting it together. Maybe if some one would call FOOSE than maybe it will happen in less than a week.

wouldn't the point of big fenders be bigger wheels?

Yes sir, If i can afford it in the summer then i will be going with 19X8.5 all around but maybe just 19X8 in the front.

I will eventually move to a 19 but it wont be wider than 8 inches and they will be lightweight performance wheels. I wanted to do em because:

1 - my 18 rub slihghtly on the wheel well edge and
2 - nobody else has tried this making the SHO look better.

It rubs because of the tire's sidewall is pretty much parallel with the edge of the rim. Getting a tire with less width would have fix that problem and no mods are necessary. My 18X8 tuck in nicely since it has a 40mm offset no spacers either!

I think if i would go with a 19X8 i would have to get a wheel with a 38 mm offset to ensure not to rub with the fender or go with a 19X7.5 and keep the same offset.

The stock slicers have a 42mm offset(not sure) so i think the stress on the bearings are the same with the 18's since the offset is compensting for the bigger wheel. I hope that makes sense.
.

i would not say "nobody else has tried this making the SHO look better" please do some research before making any comments like that. :corn:

Maybe you should start a new thread and post pictures of your car. He isn't saying that because he wants to make everyone else look bad, he's saying it because he, along with most of us, have only seen basically stock SHOs. If you've got something different, then post some pictures instead of just posting some pointless remark like that.

The last time I saw a Gen 1 with a body kit, it was white, and the kit had been modified from a Honda kit. That car was totaled last I heard. It was then replaced with a black Gen 1, with some nice touches like a billet insert grille and such. There was also a yellow Gen 2 with a modified Mustang kit and no side skirts.

I find your post insulting to SHOWYA, as he is sinking beaucoup bucks into his SHO. I for one have never seen such an extensive modification made to a Taurus, excepting those tacky lowrider Taurii. It's in good taste for once, and not some cobbled fiberglass import kit made to look the same for any Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc. on the market.

And finally, here is a helpful website: www.photobucket.com . Now click the link and host some pics. It's not a difficult nor a complicated task. I'm sure we would all like to see a shot of your SHO. Start a new thread and show us what you've got.
stfu ? what you got a pic of a full size blazer on sho site? grow up i didnt wanted to bring my SHO out in the summer done but none since 2 sho owners (im sorry 1 that i see the other has a full size blazer i never knew shos came that big and ugly) i have and am putting allot of money into my sho and i am not knocking him for doing such a good job, i wish him every luck i know i have gone thru allot of mods, time, money to get my sho where it is but seems like allot of haters like you, love to talk bs on other peoples cars.

my apologies to all ...

"2 - nobody else has tried this making the SHO look better. " this had a typo or a missing comma... should of read like this:

"2 - nobody else has tried this, making the SHO look better. "

First part ... that nobody has tried flaring the SHO and second part, i was stating that it would make MY SHO look better. Everybody no matter what you have always wants to make "it" look better! :thumb:
I saw that pic of that yello SHO along time ago. Good work! I had the idea also when i decided to go with the flares to make it look like a mustang front bumper, or maybe just the big opening in the center where the ford oval goes. just like that front picture of the yellow SHO.

Just wondering if there are any new pics that might be available
I have no more pictures at the moment but i have been working on the interior. Have almost fully regutted it to install the new carpet. I have also added sound deadning material(dynamat) to the roof since the liner is getting the suede treatment. Plus the liner is getting stitched witha big YAHAMA and yamaho logo on it. YAMAHA lettering id going to be about 13 wide by 5 inches tall in the liner. Ill post pics when i get it back.

Oh yeah and my heads are getting flow tested after the portjob ... ill post the numbers on that too.

dare i ask the total cost so far?
Well even though i did not pay as much the body shop that did the work said they valued the paint job and flare job at 8500! I would say im close to that as far as all other mods go.

Yes i know .... i could of boosted the car with that much cash. But then again it was spent only a dollar at a time :)
