Here is four more pics. 2 doors and fenders that have been based. 2 other doors had to wait since minor surface rust was found in the bottom edge of the doors. These should be based today and started to put the car together to paint!

Coming together nicely Ramone. Looking forward to seeing you rolling. Bet your itching to get it done so's you can SHO it off a little before this winter sets in.

I'm sure you will, but make sure we get a heads up as to where we can come for the viewing. LOL

If you are really intertested for the flares i can have you talk to the guys that did mine. It will take time and money ... lots!

Sounds good enough! Would you happen to have a estimated "ball park" of the price? I'm, also, trying to get my hands on some of that exclusive '02 Harley Davidson like metallic grey color. Such a gorgeous shade! These are all early/mid January projects to aim for, so... Checking in advance for the options. Thanks much!

EDIT - email: [email protected]

Tomorrow i will be sending my dash to the apholster since i received the material today.

what exactly is being done to the dash?!

Yes sir ... i was there ... good food! Wish i had the SHO done for that day. :)

I really wish I was there! Stupid job!!! :madflame:

Looks awesome. Now would be a great time to add some E39 BMW 5 series HID headlights. They are almost the same dimension as SHO gen2 headlights-with some custom body work I'd guess that they would fit well.

I think im going to leave it alone ... i really want the car back :) Besides i have HID modules on my current headlamps. You can obviously tell the stock lamps are not designed for that kind of bulb, its like having the high beams on all the time. Im going to try to make the "headlamp eyebrow" with vinyl since the fiberglass ones got trown away ( Oh well ... ) when the shop was cleaned up, plus it will help from blinding oncoming drivers.

Cool
Real HID is a PITA to retrofit to the SHO. I'm almost finished "clearing out" (sanding down the fluting) one single lense for my HID projectors. That's half the battle. The other half is trying to mount the projectors inside of the housing so that it looks good, fits well and is adjustable. It will be so worth it though. (not to hijack your thread) :)

What's the current ETA on finishing the paint? I cant wait to see it all one color and put back together (I'm sure you can't either). :)

Im going to try to work with the lamps that i have now. I do have the projectors that are off a audi lamps. Im going to get new lamps anyway ( saw new ones on ebay for $149 a piece) so "destroying" the old ones wont hurt me that much :) I have had them since i installed the HID's, but "havent really had time" to tingle with it ( Some times you tend to forget about the details ). I have posted this pic before ... but here it is again with the HIDs

As far as the car goes it should be getting put together today and get ready for paint. The inside jambs on the doors are done!

What did you use to convert to the HID? Was it a full kit, or did you make something your self?

Just the bulb and module off an Audi A6 ... bulb fits right in stock housing but a little loose ... got some rubber O rings from autozone. Made it fit nice and tight!

How did you wire it all up. I would love to find an A6 and do this to my car. I'm not too familiar with HID though, so what would I have to do. Sorry to hijack your thread.

There are 9007 retrofit kits but the ballasts tend to be crappy. Using these kits is illegal since you lose the high beam. The fluting on the SHO lense tends to throw out the entire rainbow of colors at incoming drivers and can be very blinding when using a retrofit kit.

Check out: http://www.network54.com/Forum/216460?it=0 (Herman Anker's HID forum-he's an SHO owner). Read his FAQ-it'll take days but there's a ton of info there.

www.hidforum.com was also a good site but it's been down for awhile.

I am personally in the process of sanding all of the fluting out of the SHO lense from the inside to make it completely clear. I am retrofitting D2S xenon projectors from a BMW and so far it's coming out great. Ballasts are from a Lexus but that could change as my the project evolves.

Ramone-Check ebay for Mercury Sable lights. There are a few aftermarket ones, DEPO (and another) that are cheaper than Ford. They are much cheaper than SHO lamps but they are the same thing. They come without fishtanks but the mounting points are still there. I may pick up a pair to sand out-as I make the one lense clear from the inside, I realize how bad the pitting and yellowing is on the front of the lense. I've sanded the front with 1500 grit paper and polish but new lenses would look better if they were new.

:)

If it's too much to handle, I'll take her off of your hands. :)

Seriously-she looks great. I remember thinking that I was the shizzle for installing painted 94 handles on my 93, shaving the antenna and blacking out my chrome (yet it seems I am bragging about it now anyway..funny how that worked out) but my car seems rather plain now.. :)

Headliner is easy, carpet can be a pain. Where did you get the carpet from? Is it new?

Ive been meaning to make some myself, as well as some other trim pieces here and there, but havent found out exactly how to go about it.

Looking good, but why is the doors, fenders, and some other stuff back on the car if they have more spraying to do?
