alright, after reading many different posts, I've decided to post my problem...I have a 91 mtx with an X2j computer... after recently replacing the radiator, i found that the fan was not coming on....i tried another fan that I knew to be working (no luck) and found that there is no power to the fan...I ran the codes, and nothing popped up related to the fan (I did get a 219 --some spout thing; checked those--their plugged in and seem to be clean) My CCRM has an M on it; the car has 103, 000 on it, and I don't think has ever had a new thermostat....but that shouldn't be it? seeing as there's no power to the fan
any help is greatly appreciated

Did the fan kick on when you ran the codes? I there was no power then they shouldn't have, but the fans should come on during the test.

No relation to the thermostat at all unless it is stuck open. In which case the engine will not get hot enough for the ECT to send a signal to kick the fan on.

If the fan has no power the problem could be in your IRCM/CCRM

EDIT: or you could just have a bad fan.

the fan didn't kick on when I ran the codes...the temp gauge goes all the way up and the hose coming off the thermostat gets way hot, so I believe that's all working correctly....
I tested the power to the fan with the max a/c on and got nothing so along with the fan not going on during the code test, I'm at a loss

is it possible to take a ccrm from a 95? the big letter on the top is different...I don't know if that matters.....
anyone got any idea on the 219 code? I never noticed any problem with the car..... I know the spout thingy would run the car at a set timing-making it slower; but it could've been a problem as long as I've owned it--who know's

alright, so I went ahead and swapped out the ccrm from my 95 parts car before researching (yea, that was dumb) but I did the self-test and the fan came on......so I believe the ccrm is the culprit; unfrtunately, as I've learned I have to get a new one specific for the 91

so, thank you both for the input....I'm off to shop :woo-hoo:

oh, and any idea on the 219 code which doesn't seem to do anything?

The CCRM is a code M , which is a 89-93 specific CCRM (if I remember correctly) , You just need to match that code and you're golden.

You can find them on ebay or post an ad in the WTB section of the forum.
