the website i'm looking at (cardomain.com) reccomends buying this to use in addition to the wiring harness adapter. i will be using a pioneer head unit with 50x4 watt output (this one ) do i need this to hook up to my factory speakers (say "premium sound" on the speaker grilles)? and if not necessary, will it be better to have when i upgrade the speakers later on? basically i dont know what this thing is, and i want to make sure cardomain's not just trying to sell an extra 20 bucks, thanks.... and btw, anyone got a coupon code i could use? :D

i also have the "premium" and put in a aftermarket pioneer head unit. buy the headunit here pioneer deh-4600 its cheaper, and also dont buy any wiring harness off the internet. when u recieve the cd player go to wal mart and buy the ford "premium" wiring harness, its like $6. and u might wanna replace those speakers soon....the new headunit with the stock amp POUNDS! i can only put my volume up to 8 out of 30 before my ears start to hurt. for speakers get some 3 way pioneer 6x8's and 2 or 3 way pioneer 6 1/2's, they were only like 45 apeice and they sound great!

haha wow. exactly the same as what i was going to do. last night upon some other advice i found etronics, decided on getting the wiring harness locally, and picked out those exact speakers. what did you do for the buttons up by the steering wheel? just not use them any more? i'd like to still have the ability to use them, any advice on where to find an adapter or how to make them work?

i didnt use em at all.....but i think ur new deck might have a control for em, if u pop it out theres the main harness and then more towards the middle of the unit theres a small plug in, it might be for something like that. but idk i just never use mine, if u want u could tape ur remote there........ :thumb:
