Love the performance of the SHO. I only wish it had a little more voice. Not something that will drone on and make my rear passengers uncomfortable. Looking for something that will add a touch more rumble, no a flat out roar/burble. Any suggestions?

Yeah, leave it stock. It is a turbo V6, they sound like crap. Let me explain.

A V6 (especially the Ecoboost) will never have a deep pitch or a deep sound, even if you put a chambered muffler on it (which never should be done in a boost application). It isn't a V8 and it isn't a high fast revving exotic V6.

There really isn't anything you can do to make them sound desirable.

Only set up I can recommend to anyone is catless downpipes and third cat gutted with everything else stock. Gives a little grumble with no drone. Just a bit louder over stock. Unfortunately these cars with anything else all have a Chewbacca note somewhere in there

I'm running the LMS catted downpipes with the Corsa cat-back and if I'm honest, I DID NOT like the sound when I first installed them. It had a lot of rasp and was excruciatingly loud. I quickly realized that Corsa doesn't include a resonator like the stock application. When I called them their answer made me laugh, "Well why would we do that? Our customers want it loud and high flowing".

IMO, a resonator is REQUIRED for these cars unless you are creating a race/strip car or are hard of hearing. Once I installed the resonators all is well and a smile returned to my face. Resonators help tame the crazy v6 sound and dramatically reduce rasp. Car is quiet on freeway and daily driving, perfect to not annoy the wife and kids. There is just a hint of something lurking under the hood and it has a quiet rumble at idle. Once I step on the gas, it gets loud and aggressive. There is a little bit of rasp in there under a 3/4 throttle, but I'm ok with it for now.

Knowing what I do now, I would have gone with Magnaflow's cat-back as they include a resonator along with two mufflers which help keep the sound tame and sexy. Here's a pic of my setup.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/VPE-1792 if you are interested in purchasing them. I went with 12" thinking there wasn't going to be much room, but there was plenty. I could have gone with bigger ones and been ok.

I'm in the process of acquiring a GoPro so I can mount it on the trunk or rear window and get some sound clips soon. Stupid Taurus doesn't let you rev the engine...shame as I can't taunt people at a light.

Do NOT do the Magnaflow Cat-back! Horrible drone!!! Had to modify my setup and install a massive mid-muffler/resonator to make it sound decent/livable now.

I installed Dynomax axle backs. Sound pretty good, throaty sound when getting on the gas and sounds good at start up and idle.
