How hard is it to replace the rear exhaust manifold? I have a crack in the rear manifold that needs to be fixed, I might replace it myself.

ATX or MTX?

It's possible on the MTX...don't think so on the ATX.

isnt the atx further foward then the mtx? Wouldnt that make it easier? Unless you're talking about the egr removal and stuff too.

I wouldn't describe it as hard, just a pain. I've done several on both MTX and ATX cars, and MTX's are decidedly easier because of easier access from underneath and not having to futz with the EGR tube.

Taking the intake off and on, and removing and re-installing the y-pipe probably will take more time total than actually swapping the manifold will. Of course take the time to run a tap through the threads for the y-pipe studs and install new studs before installing the manifold.

Intake does not have to come off. y-pipe does not have to come off (just loosen both flanges) I do understand where your comin from Chris, but I had my rear manifold off 3 times. Once for VSS pigtail, Second time to replace VSS, third time to repair broken off EGR tube bolt. It will come out the top without destroying anything, and all bolts except the y-pipe nuts are accessable from the top with a curved flexhead long handled ratchet.
