Error Codes need help please

Hello I am new to this forum and i need some help. i just picked up a 1994 sho with a 3.0 and i am getting the check engine lite coming on.
so i headed dwn to my local autozone for a free trouble shooting cause i know there is gonna be codes

here are the codes iam getting. i have looked everywere on the net to figure out were to start looking for the problem with the codes but i have no clue so i need help please:

211 PIP circuit fault
542 Fuel pump secondary circuit failure.

were or what would be the best place to start finding out what is wrong and what might be the problem to get rid of the codes

Just click on the search arrow above, type in error codes, and you will get several links to places where you can get what the codes mean.

Also, it would be a good idea to pull the codes yourself, just to double check Autozone. It's really easy to do, and again, your search will get you the "how to" there as well.

Sorry, just noticed you already know what the codes mean.

PIP stands for profile ignition pickup. This code could be set by anything from a loose ground wire somewhere to a faulty computer. Start out by doing the simple things like follow wires from the injectors and other electrical components looking for bare spots and/or loose wires.

The fuel pump circuit failure could be the same type problem. Do the same thing, just start at the other end of the car.

After that, use the search function here, and the links at shotimes.com and you will get a laundry list of things that can cause those codes.

211 - Intermittent CPS (crank) sensor output.

542- Ignore if the car runs. Set when engine is stalled.

If you are experiencing intermittent stalling or hard starts, it's probably time for a new CPS.

FWIW, NEVER buy anything from a parts store based only on a code. Come back here and look around first.
