replaced my EPAS gear after water leaking in through my tie rod boot and fried it. installed a used one, programmed it. and the steering assist still doesn’t work. “POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAULT” on the dash. i’m assuming it’s stuck in manual safe mode? attempted to reset dtcs, and the PSCM but no luck. can i drive with no steering assist? and where do i go from here? it’s a 2010

edit: did a short drive with manual steering. no codes still. PSCM is getting 14 volts but the motor reads -25 amps?? what the **** is going on

the first year i think had normal power steering. If you look at your crank pulley, it has a free groove for a belt. Mine at least does

What i was getting at is you can find a first year and get the hydraulic unit from it. I seen it done a few times. Dont look bad to do at all. S crew the electric rack. Ive had nothing but issues with it as im on my second one.
