I have recently replaced my waterpump, and now my engine is smoking as if something is spilled on it. it is smoking at the very back of the engine, right in the middle. While doing the waterpump job, i had pulled my reservoir<sp?> for my powersteering fluid up and almost upside down. Now, now doubtedly much of it spilled out. My question is, should I really worry? I have driven the car about 150 miles, and it is still smoking some, but not as much as when i first cranked it. Or should I just give it some time to see if all of the fluid, or whatever it is, will burn off? Thanks for the help.

if it was a spilled fluid for sure, yes itll burn off. what does it smell of ? burning oil or burning trans fluid ? if its a leak, id suggest looking at the pan gasket, cam seals, cam cover gasket. you know more about it than we do....

Well, i've never smelled burning trans fluid, so I'm not sure..but it definately doesn't smell like oil.
That's the first thing I was going to suggest. I had smoke coming from the middle rear of my engine, and it was a leaking oil pressure sender. If you had the PS fluid reservoir tipped in that direction, it could very well be whatever fluid drained out of it that is burning off. I would give it some time, and if it's still smoking, something might be leaking.
