ok i just noticed the after a hard pull past 4k the there is quite a bit of smoke, smells like burning oil, noticing a loss of oil from crankcase. no smoke on start up, or while dry reving. and if i normal drive no smoke. only when i really get on it. im hoping it could be something simple like a clogged pcv or something, but fearing something like valve seals/rings.

Could be a number of places its leaking from. What's the maintenance history on the car?

it was dealer maintained up until 90k when the owner died of old age. the son of said owner drove the car for 30k and sold the car to a guy that let it sit for some time and then i found it and offered some money. its got to be coming from tailpipes. i was hoping for a pcv of some sort but i cant find one either, so it must be rings or valve seals. compression is in the 190 range for all 6

but why all of a sudden and not over time

The compression is okay, so I think it is more than likely tired valve seals. They are not the end of the world to replace, but in the meantime switch to a non-synthetic high mileage oil like Castrol GTX High Mileage and you may see improvement. There is no PCV valve, but there is a possibility that the crankcase ventilation passages in the throttle body are clogged. Remove and clean all ports/passages with carb cleaner.

i cleaned all the ports and replaced the vac. hoses when i had the intake off for the plug change.

If it's coming from the tails, either the cyl. walls are glazed and you are experiencing lots of blow by, or one or more of your valve stem seals blew.

If you are SMELLING oil at a stop(And while under the hood while idleing), it's probably a leak. Most likely the REAR cam seal.

nope not at idle, not on normal to moderate driving, only when i nail it. its weird. since i made this thread i haven't got into it. haven't used a drop of oil, but on the way home an 94-95 gt stang wanted to play, which i pulled him real good. i still have all the power i should but when i got home i did notice a loss of oil:nut: and my tail pipes aren't oily and the hard pulls where only a couple of miles from the house

one more thing... what does the large 1\4" port facing the front of the car near the TB suppost to have. vac or no vac? its the one that has the hose going to the front valve cover

Fresh air feeding the crankcase ventilation system enters at the front valve cover via a hose that comes from the throttle body, fed via a port before the throttle plate. Vapors are extracted via a hose fitting in the crankcase valley that returns to the bottom of the throttle body. There are three outlet ports for the extracted air/crankcase mixture in the throttle body. Under various throttle positions, the air and crankcase gas mixture flows differently through these outlet ports.

After a long idle, if it smokes when you first get on it but then clears if you keep pushing, or if it clears after repeated back to back passes, that points to a valve seal. If it smokes badly all the way through the run, or if it gets worse the harder you push, then that suggests a problem with an oil control ring.

Auto Rx is not a band aid as it is a treatment that is done then you don't use it again.

Most blowby smoke is caused by a carbon build up behind the rings. ARX will clean this out safely.

Mine does the same thing. Even when sitting steady, if I give it enough gas it smokes, sometimes it's blueish blackish smoke, never really pure blue smoke. Sometimes if it's been sitting for a while, it will smoke on startup as well.

Mine smoked like mad when the cats failed and sucked back into the works.

On start up it might or might not belch but anytime after that it ran blue.
