I have a chance to pick up this combo for pretty cheap, but my brother always stresses the importance of matched spring and strut rates. Is this a good combo, and how stiffer will it make my car?

I wouldn't call it a stiff ride, its more like a firm comfortable ride. In my opinion this is the best spring/strut combo, you can tailor the ride to your liking. My favorite setting for normal street driving and highway cruising is fronts a 1/4 turn in, and the rears on full soft. This provides a great balance for spirited driving with a luxury car type ride. Once at the track I turn them to full firm all the way round.fuhSHO:

With that said...Glen, what struts did you put the inserts in, and how did they work for you?SHOkid13:
One comment: I didn't like the tolerances between the Konis and the factory struts. So, I purchased and cut up some cheepie AutoZone struts, which had a much better fit. The Konis in the Ford struts were really loose.
