EGR Valve

Can anyone show me a pic of where this might be on my SHO? I live in MD but bought my car used. It's a 92 mtx and shouldn't have one but I think I do.

Any help would be appreciated.

Right beside the throttle body, on the firewall side, bolted with other crap on the rear side of the intake manifold. It's a big silver round thing with a black vacumm line hooked up to it and has a long pipe running down to the rear exhaust manifold.

How do I research to see if my car was manufactured with an EGR valve? It looks like I have two of them on my intake. Can I remove these? What needs to be done to do this??

Since your car is a 92 MTX, it won't have EGR unless it was originally sold in California. I doubt that yours has it.

In this picture of my ATX, the EGR is located on the intake manifold, directly in front of the alarm siren and to the passenger side of the brake reservoir.

i have one on my 92 MTX plus a extra egr but the tube is bad..........ill trade u intakes if u wanna have one .....lol

LOL, if i had one on my car I was going to chuck the intake and get a new one. No sense in having all those gasses recirculating in my intake. I have enough carbon build up without the EGR Valve.

Hi all I'm Baaaaaack

I’ve bean away for a few years. I’m getting the SHO back on the road and it failed emissions HOx twice the limit. I read to clean the EGR, I spent 20 minutes looking for it and the best I can find is a flat casting with no holes on the intake. I checked with the forum and found K-Dawg's picture that shows his EGR. I AINT GOT ONE!! SO how do I get my HOx down?

1995 stock, MTX
Had the engine Replaced in 2001 by Dave Dinger Ford.

Pull the spout connector. Do a search and you'll find plenty of info on how to do it.
