EGR question

Can a leak in the EGR system, a bad EGR valve, or the system being clogged up cause the sho to idle rough?

Yes, I had a rough idle and the exhaust smelled like gas. (didn't pass smog)

The tube conecting the EGR to the rear exhaust manifold had a hole in it. Causing it to not work properly and run rough. To check it out get a peice of hose and put one end up to your ear and the other end to the tube. If you hear a hissing noise comming from the tube thats the air getting sucked in...
