I pulled codes today to try to find out why my car was being an A-Hole when i restart it and i found a 111 on the KOEO and a 115 and 116 on the KOER test. 116 is a bad ECT... that i know. Is the 115 code the same as 116?

Anywho, where is the ECT located? Is it on the top right corner of the radiator? I see a plug that goes into the radiator but i dont wanna start taking things apart until i know where it exactly is.

Help the noob! :shrug:

Thats the water outlet jacket. If you look down from the TB you will see it. 1" deep socket will remove it for you.
Did you have the car warm when you ran this test?

Yes. I had just drove home form work (9 miles highway) and as soon as i parked it, i began the tests... Is it normal for it to not post any problems on the KOEO test but show the problems with the engine on??? I figured that if i had a bad ECT, it woulda stored the 116 code and display is in the KOEO test.

If you get a CE light at all you should get something in the KOEO stored codes. But some codes may not show up on the KOEO that will with the KOER. Good practice to do them both if your having trouble.

Yea... For the longest time, i was having re-start problems where i would have to give it 25+ % throttle to start... Now it starts fine and when i shift from reverse to drive, it will sometimes slow wayyy down to 500 or below and almost stall out. I am thinking gremlins... but i dunno :p

On the 3 digit code lists I've seen, there isn't a code 115

116 = bad ECT, .... $22. @ O'Reilleys, 15 or 18 bucks @ Autozone.
I bought the one at O'Reilleys, and it was a cheap *** plastic one.

And yes if you're going to replace your ECT you need a 1" deep well socket.

If it still won't restart easily, run the tests again and see if you get,
214 - Error in Cylinder ID (CID) circuit or signal.
If so, might need a camshaft position sensor.
