Well the April dyno day fell through so lets see if we can get one going mor mid-late May. I am open to suggestions on where to dyno, but make sure they can SCT tune. The place in O town that I was in contact with still does not have their dyno setup so we can travel back to FPN or south towards K-Dawg (or K-member to Roy  ) I am sure tha FPN will not let anyone down this time (atleast what they can physically control) and it seems to be a midpoint stop for MOST of us. Let me know what you think...I know money is still tight for some of you right now and some of our SHOs are not ready as well.

Also I am gauging interest in a road course day at Gainesville raceway. I will need at least 20 cars though before it is doable price wise. There are several setups that they can make track wise but your car has to pass inspection which is similar to the scca inspection. From what I remember, 20 cars is about $100 per person.

Also Roy needs to get his butt in gear so we can get a "help fix members car day(s)" together. Everyone will learn how to complete a 60k and replace rod bearings and whatever misc repairs we can tackle.

Yes sir i was going to PM you about this. Im so sorry, Ive been busy with personal stuff. I met a guy here in my town that has 2 SHO's and he is going to do my TB,WP,CrankSensor. Then I can drive there and do the rod bearings and other stuff.

Should i get the vavecover stuff?? I just did it last year to fix the plugwells. Ive only put 5K miles since then but i smell oil still. Maybe i didnt line them up.

Ill get it anyway, but the wires and plugs are new. Plus Ill get the CV's also, they r making noise on Pass side just when turning sharp.

Mine will be running in the next week or so.

Then Ill drive to your house and keep your wife warm as you fix my car!!!!

So, you obviously had a great time at Talladega, Tara. Cool.

If y'all are getting together in Gainesville for any reason, I will try to make it. I can't afford the $100 at this time, but can I at least watch? Someday in the future it would be so much fun to participate in something like that.

As far as the "fix a member's car day", that is a GREAT idea! :thumb: I have lots to learn.

Ciao!

Passenger side is easy.

Unbolt the hub nut, jack up the car, take off the wheel. Get the brake crap off. Unbolt the tie-rod end. Unbolt either the lower control arm or the strut pinch bolt. I don't remember which or if you have to do both. Pull the knuckle out some. Lightly tap/push the axle back through the hub. Pop the axle out of the midshaft. To replace, do the above in reverse. Technically, you're suppposed to use new hardware (pinch bolt/nut, castle nut, ball joint pinch bolt, hub nut), but its not necessary.

BTW, this is a good time to do the 96 brake upgrade.

Passenger side is a piece of cake. It's the drivers side that is a b*tch to do.
I have a feeling we will not be hitting the 20 car goal by ourselves but my friend Chris (the Neon guy) usually puts together their yearly statewide meet and they usually do a road course but was unable to this year at the track they wanted to do, so he said he knows of at least 6 or 7 people that would definitely show up from Jacksonville. If we need more people, let me know, I will tell him to pass the word along.

The FSHOC will never see 20 SHOs on the track. I am open to whoever wants to go once I get a date set. I am waiting for a few members to get their cars in order before I try to set a date. Also remember, make sure you can trust the non members you may bring in. Gainesville is a relatively easy track with lots of open grass and dirt before the walls if you wander off the track, but anyone driving overly agressive will be tossed out. This is not a drifting day either (not that the SHOs can really drift, this goes for any non members that are invited or members driving other cars) ...the officials WILL remove you for drifting as well. I believe 3 to 4 cars at a time are on the track for 15-20 minute periods and there are different skill/car levels as well.

As for the dyno, lets shoot for like the first Saturday of June. I was going to talk to Torrie and see if he has any objections to us returning to FPN. I have one person that will definitly want to get chipped at the moment (non SHO). I would like to get atleast one more before then as well. Same as track day, bring anyone you would like. The more cars we can dyno, the happier the FPN gang will be.

Any other meets/suggestions/concerns, please let us know. We have had a slow couple of months and I would like to get everyone in the mood for the convention. :thumb:

On the way to back to 95 from the Cars for Charity show, we passed a **********. Forget the name of it though. I'm sure Chris knows.
