This may sound kind of dumb, but here goes... I did the Shotimes procedure for checking broken motor mounts, and my front MM was broken. I ordered the part from O'Reily Auto Parts, and it came in today. They gave me the mount, since I have never seen it, I'm not sure if it is the right one  . Also the mount looked USED!! , so my dad and I went back up there, and he said to try it, and if it doesn't work we will get another. Here is a picture...

Just making sure it is the right one (wouldn't be surprised if they ordered the wrong one, as the guy I ordered from was deaf. Thanks!

That is NOT what a front motor mount looks like! I have a question as well, my front motor mount seems to be constantly losing one of the top nuts that hold the bolt to the engine. its a sho nuit reinforced mount, so it doesnt seem to wanna break, but the dam thing keeps getting loose! its driving me insane. i put a new nut on it tonight and on the way fomr from my freinds it already seems to be loosening (IE jerky movement, motor moves excessively again on pass side). should it be locktighted? or does it maybe have to be tourqued? any help much appreciated

You must specify if you have a 3.0L or a 3.2L since the mounts are very different. I found the local auto supplies, including O'Reilly and AutoZone, to have the incorrect mounts listed for the SHO 3.0L.

I've done some research on this at work (o'reilly) and it is the mount manufacturer's fault on that... o'reilly, advance, and i think even autozone carry pioneer motor mounts...which are good quality mounts...but do a **** poor job of cataloging them..... does anyone have a good picture of the correct motormounts so i can see about finding the pioneer numbers for them... fyi.. in the pioneer book..there are about 8 different mounts that say SHO next to them... different years...so as i said... any good pictures...

Louis

ps. the one pictured above is the regular old 3.0l mount

Thank you so much for your concern beer ... Since you work at O'Reily, how would I go about returning it? Just tell them it is the wrong one? and then give them the correct number (hopefully if you can get it). Once again thank you everybody!! thumbs_u Looks like I may not get this done this weekend after all. frown

MTX mounts are ford only. I checked the entire anchor motor mount picture catalog (autozone and pep boys supplier), no dice. For ATX mounts, you can go through AZ, Napa, Advance, of whatever else is local. I'd spring for the sho nut reinforced, they're worth it.

just goto o'reilly and tell them its the wrong thing.... you want your money back.....

and i understand that the mounts are considered oem only... still....there have been many occasions when i have found aftermarket manufacturers make a part but don't list it properly... or even at all... if anyone has pictures it would be greatly appreciated.... and we don't carry anchor at o'reilly... so maybe a different brand.. a different chance

OK....as for the motormounts...i don't have pictures of the RIGHT ones...but after looking at the ones on my car (limited view without taking them off) and talking with the pioneer rep..... here is what i have come up with

tranny mount = pioneer # 621038 19.99

rear motor mount = 611173 79.99

front motor mount = 602791 - 18.99

those would be the correct part numbers... to the best of my knowledge... the tranny i'm 99% sure of.. the rear mount i'm about the same on... the front mount i haven't actually seen..only had description over the phone by the pioneer rep...and sounds good.... plus we went throught the listings and ford part #'s ... thats what i got.... if someone has valid pictures of correct ones..email me with them and i can make sure about it... but as i said... i'm pretty sure

That looks like my front motor mount (ATX), It does not take much for the paint to chip off, just shipping will do it.

lb-sho: Are those the part #'s for MTX or ATX? Sense SHO-nut does not make reinforced ATX mounts I would like to find a cheaper source than OEM. Anybody?

This MM pictured is the front mount off of a 3.2 ATX. They are quite different than the MTX mounts. The ATX mounts are suposed to hold up better. If your car is an MTX go the SHO NUT route, I got my rear mount from him, It is awesome. I will will also soon be replacing my SHO Shop reinforced front mount that failed after just 2 years. frown
