i have a 93 mtx..i work at a ford dealer so i used the STARS tester..had no codes..my car loses power at certain RPM's..sometimes it just stops accelerating but u can hear the motor pushing...the only thing i found was oil in the spark plug wells..which is from the leaky seals..could the problem be that the oil is gettin into the spark plug and its not sparking like it should? what else could it be? thanks for any help

Sounds like the clutch is slipping.

Of course, the oil in the plugs wells is very common and will cause secondary ignition problems.

not the clutch..just did the clutch 3K ago..replaced with centerforce stage 2

Just to be sure, the tach doesn't rise and the motor stays at pretty much the same rpm too right. Mine does that. You might check out the fuel pump and the fuel delivery system. Or vacuum, or bad wiring or.. well, good luck. I think the oil in the plug wells could be part of it but not all of it.

i checked fuel pressure..stayed with in specs at all times..i used the schroeder valve or however its spelled..and i taped it to my hood..took it for a spin..and it was right there..on the throttle and just cruisin...to better describe it..as when im ******* the gas..it stalls out sometimes..the rpms wont go up fast at all..kinda just hangs around...i dunno its kinda hard to explain and im just startin w/cars at age 16...another thing i noticed was the smell of burning oil if i take it out on a beat run..but it doesnt leak anywhere except the spark plug wells..

How many miles does the car have? Before investing in an exhaust i would do a 60k,i.e, plugs,wires,valve cover gaskets/plug well seals, timing belt,CPS, waterpump,fuel filter,mabye fuel pump,air filter (K&N) and change the oil if you havn't done that already with Castrol GTX. Always do maintenance before performance. One last thing, remove the intake silencer for your free performance mod . There are 2 bolts that hold it in. It is in the drivers side fender. You will have to partially remove the fender wall and remove your air box. Have fun with your SHO. thumb
