I'm looking at RS3's, you guys were talking about tires running a little bigger or smaller between brands, do you know if Hankook does anything like that?

No, they are pretty consistent. As I posted here and in other threads, I had run the RS2s on 17x7.5" rims on my LGT, and loved 'em.

Here's the specs from TR for the RS3:

215/45ZR17
Load Index 87 = 1201lbs (545kg) per tire
Speed Rating “W” = 168mph (270kph) 87W SL Treadwear: 140
Traction: A
Temperature: A140 A A 1201 lbs.
51 psi
10/32"
22 lbs. 7-8"
7"
8.4"
7.4"
24.6"

Country of Origin "KR" = KOREA, REPUBLIC OFKR
225/45ZR17
Load Index 94 = 1477lbs (670kg) per tire
Speed Rating “W” = 168mph (270kph) 94W XL Treadwear: 140
Traction: A
Temperature: A140 A A 1477 lbs.
50 psi
9/32"

Kinda hacked up on the copy-n-paste, but the tread width of the 215 is 7.4", and the 225 is 8".

My 215s worked very well on the 7.5" rim. They wore very evenly, and were not fussy for tire pressure.

I haven't seen this issue, but here's what John Hrinsin posted on the V6 List the other day, referring to the latest GrassRoots Motorsports issue:

"I got the August issue of GRMS the other day and they have their latest round of dry tire testing using they MX-5 project vehicle. The idea was to test tire that would be legal in the SCCA Tire Tire ranks (tread ware no lower than 140) at full tread depth. The Tire Rack assisted and they used their new paved asphalt test center. The results were;

Hankook Ventus R-s3 Z222
Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
Toyo Proxes R1R
Kimho Ecsta XS
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec

BTW the Hankook was also the less expensive tire tested and about mid pack in weight.

Late November they did wet testing on some of these tires on the same car;

IMO, if you aren't worried about tire wear, and want the best possible summer tires, go with the RS3.
