Please see my Intro post for more information about the car and the problem.

I am going to replace my DIS and forget what type of compound to use between it and the manifold. I want to say lithium heatsink compound, but I can't recall if it has to be something with specific electrical properties.

Thanks!
Jesse

Any kind of thermal paste.... You can get it at Radio Shack. If you want the good stuff that people use on CPU's when they install heat sinks, you can get some Arctic Silver. The Radio Shack stuff will suffice.

You can get some that has metal flakes that will conduct, but that is not needed.

arctic silve rwould be good, as it is partially conductive...

Not all Arctic Silver is conductive... AS5 is not and they have another that is not as well.

What he said. Cheap radioshack style heat sink paste should be fine, stock was no better. Clean the old stuff off completely first and don't use too thick a layer, but at least get full coverage.

You want the best then get some Arctic Silver 5. It really shouldn't be necessary though. It's not like you are going to gain any power from using a state of the art thermal paste between your DIS and intake.

Remember that the 4 screws provide the grounding path with your DIS. You want good clean connections on all 4 of those. I've heard of people having problems when they left a screw loose...probably because the other 3 didn't have the greatest connections electrically speaking.

It's done and fixed. I knew thats all it was going to be. It needs a new thermostat as it never gets fully warmed up, but all the power is there now.

Arcitc says none of them are conductive, but can be slightly capacative.

I guess what I should have asked is: Is the paste between the DIS and manifold intended to be heat conductive, electrically conductive or both?
Some of their older stuff was electrically conductive. I am pretty sure AS3 was.
