Have had trouble with my overdrive light staying on since i got my 95 ATX.Also since I have got my 95 the check engine light has not come on.
Well the other night I noticed that the check enging light seemed to be on but it was very dim.In the daylight you would not notice it.I had thought the bulb was out or something.
Ok back to the overdrive light. This light has done everything.Blinked on off and on stayed on stayed out.gone on and off very fast like it was trying to go out.
since I have seen the Check engine light was on.I took it to a friend to see what codes were causing it to come on.
Well there where no codes stored.
Well a short time after that I noticed the check engine light came on bright. It also comes on when the key is turned on now.
Well now the overdrive light is out and seems to be working fine.
But the check engine light comes on after a short distance of driving.
Im wondering if the 2 can be connected some how.
Now the overdrive light is out and now the check engine light is on and visible.
could it be the ECM or a bad connector or something.
Now the CEL light is as bright as a sun and I would light to figure out how to get the check engine light out. Can anyone give me any help in this area.I dont think its just luck that one light went out and the other one is now on.

My guess is that either, 1. the filament inside the bulb(s) is about to blow completely or 2. there is an intermittent connection on the printed circuit.

Well the light may be about to go.Remeber the CEL never came on before with the key on.Its does now.But what about the overdrive light going out?The light has not come on since the CEL come on.I think this is connected somehow.
I know it sounds strange but it also sounds possible.
Could a bad connector cause this or bad computer.
Thanks for the inputs im open for any suggestions.

There is a cylindrical connector that is the EEC's ground connection. It's located under the hood, it branches off of the negative cable that bolts to the strut tower. I would check for corrosion and resistance w/ a Multimeter. You shouldn't get any resistance through this wire.

thanks slow I will check the ground. Also my overdrive light is now back to what it was before.going crazy.comes on and off when it wants too.also noticed that when it goes off the button will not turn it on.but it will turn it off sometimes.wow this is driving me crazy.so now i have 2 lights on most of the time.seems there was no connection between the overdrive light and the CEL as I suggested before.Well hope to find this problem out soon.
