DID I SCREW UP MY TRANNY?

alright,

i gotta come clean. this has been bugging me for quite some time. when i tagged along with osman and nick to the baysho all my fun chasing osman through the twisties, i
downshifted from 3rd to second (matched
revs)...without the clutch!

don't know wh moment i guess. there was no scraping or anything. the tranny actually wents really smoothly into gear without using the clutch. didn't hear anything and it popped out easily.

since then, the shifter feels a little notchy. again, i don't hear any funky noises at all. the clutch feels stiffer as well.

the tranny was rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago by nick. a new stock clutch was put in at the same time.

There is a point during your RPMs that you can shift without a clutch....it is very hard to get the timing right though....check your tranny fluid...level may be low and you may want to flush it and refill...always check and do the cheap easy stuff first wink

It's either what Randy said, or the clutch has some slack now.

ive heard of this happening before.............

you have less than 200 miles before the tranny ***** the bed. a complete rebuild is necessary, along with a new flywheel for sure, a clutch maybe.

who the **** told you to pull stunts like that? its not like you were keeping up anyway........now you broke your car into the bargain...............

i did this on our way up to the meet, not afterwards when i had my headache. if you remember i was on your ass like a fly on sheeyat at that point! squint
